Oligotherapy Case Studies
The following case studies are a small example of some conditions which can be addressed with Oligotherapy. I hope to illustrate how Oligotherapy does not concentrate on purely the medical diagnosis or the symptoms but addresses the background condition – constitution – of the individual. To avoid confusion, where the word ‘diagnosed’ appears, it refers to a diagnosis made by a medical practitioner. Also where ATP appears, it refers to the client continuing on a process of personal development which I conduct, Alchemical Transformation Programmes www.colleenoflaherty.co.uk. For further examples of any of the conditions, please contact the Institute.
ME - CHRONIC FATIGUE - ADRENAL EXHAUSTION
- 13 year old girl – diagnosed as having ME; had to take a year out of school. Identified a much weakened background condition. Recommended Complexes No. 14 and No. 7 plus diet for irregular blood sugar levels in addition to a very strict regime of rest and exercise to gradually build stamina. She eventually went back to school, initially part time and then full time. She took her GCSEs at the normal time and went on to study medicine.
- 55 year old women diagnosed with ME with a very low red cell magnesium level which could not be elevated by using magnesium infusions – large quantities of magnesium administered intravenously. After one month on complex NO. 12 her red cell magnesium levels were normal and from this point her health started to improve.(In the early 1990s when this person was my client, Magnesium was recognised as one of the key treatments for this disorder. Similar results were reported at that time during an 18 month period where ME sufferers had their red cell magnesium tested before and after taking the appropriate trace element complexes)
- 11 year old boy diagnosed with Post Viral Fatigue. Had been ill for six months and had missed a great deal of schooling. He was taking medication for Asthma as well as anti-depressants and pain killers for extreme headaches. Recommended No. 14 for his weakened constitution, plus a diet for his digestive disturbances. After one month he was doing more physically and having fewer headaches. After two months he returned to school still continuing with No. 14. His progress continued and he was able to reduce his medication for Asthma, come off the anti-depressants and eventually went on to University but learnt to recognise when his immune system was compromised and would take a short course of No. 14.
- 40 year old man diagnosed with post viral syndrome; in a stressful job and had been off work for six months; recommended No. 14. After three months his energy was progressively improving; symptoms diminishing and had gone back to work. Continued with No. 14 at a very low dose. Started ATP sessions which eventually resulted in his changing career.
MENOPAUSE
- 50 year old woman diagnosed with menopausal problems – falling hair, brittle nails depression and hot flushes. Recommended No. 1 and No. 12. One month later her hair and nails were improved, her hot flushes reduced and depression had abated.
- 48 year old woman suffering from fatigue and hot flushes. Recommended NO. 14 - After one month she was feeling less fatigued and the hot flushes reduced. She continued on a reduced dose for two months until all symptoms had disappeared and then one dose per day to maintain the improvement.
- 52 year old women suffering from reduced energy, blood sugar fluctuations, hot flushes and mood swings. Recommended No. 15 plus a diet to stabilise blood sugar. After one month there was an improvement in all areas. She continued on a reduced dose with progressive improvement. She would then only take the No. 15 whenever she felt that any of the symptoms were returning.
- 40 year old women with erratic painful, heavy periods, extreme fatigue; recommended No. 15. After one month periods improved and after two months were much lighter and the tiredness much reduced.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
- 24 year old man diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, had been given steroids but had stopped taking them as he felt they were not helping his condition. Recommended No. 2 plus a diet to help his digestive system, and No. 7 for his background condition. After ten days he reported that, although starting a new job, a situation which would have normally triggered an attack, the pain and diarrhoea had gone and he was feeling more relaxed. After three months he had no further symptoms.
- 65 year old man who had a lifetime of digestive problems, ranging from over acidity, pain and discomfort in the abdomen in addition he was suffering from low energy levels. Identified high levels of stress and recommended No. 7 at a high dose plus a specific diet for acidity. After second month of treatment all digestive problems had ceased and he was experiencing more energy. He then started ATP sessions to address his stress levels.
GOUT
- 40 year old man diagnosed with gout, slightly overweight , and was taking medication Identified a hyper background condition and recommended No. 2 with a diet to reduce acidity, and No. 7 for his background condition. We started ATP sessions as well as clinical aromatherapy treatments. After three months she was able to reduce and eventually cut out the antidepressants and stopped attending the support group. Two years later after seeing her each month she was leading a normal, healthy life. Had increased her weight to normal levels and was working. During this period she took the No. 7 whenever she felt anxious or out of control.

Nine months later the osteopath declared that the knees were back to normal and he could resume jogging. This has continued for several years and he still takes a very low dose of the two complexes.

At this time an x-ray revealed that the spurs had disappeared. She made progressive improvement becoming more and more mobile and eventually weaned herself off all medication. After six months she ceased taking the Oligotherapy but maintained her improvement
